WOODCUT STYLE

Woodcut printmaking is traditionally made by carving a plank of wood to be used like a giant ink stamp. The process is unforgiving because each carved mark cannot be un-carved. This results in an honest record of the artist's work that cannot be erased away or fixed. My work in this style is digital but it's informed by the woodcut process, layering colors of digital "ink" and restraining myself from over-editing the marks.
